Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States. The good news is that regular screenings can help detect breast cancer early when most treatable. The American College of Radiology (ACR) recommends that women receive an annual mammogram starting at age 40.

This October, join Med Center Health in the fight against breast cancer and Take the Pink Pledge.

Digital Mammography

The Medical Center offers the most advanced mammographic imaging technology available for the early detection of breast cancer with Lorad Selenia full field digital mammography and Hologic Genius™ 3D Mammography. Digital mammography has been shown to be significantly better than traditional film at detecting early cancers among women who are premenopausal, are younger than age 50, or have dense breast tissue.

Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ exams at The Medical Center deliver a series of detailed breast images, allowing your doctor to better evaluate your breasts layer by layer. Genius exams are FDA approved, and over 100 clinical studies have shown that by using this technology, doctors are able to screen for breast cancer with much greater accuracy -- regardless of a woman's age or breast density.

Greater accuracy means better breast cancer detection and a reduced chance of being called back for additional screenings. Genius exams are covered and paid for by Medicare, as well as a growing number of private insurers.
